Aretha.

Need I say more ?

I finally got to see her live in concert, at the Nokia Theater in Grand Prairie, Texas last Saturday night. She was still quite amazing, and has not lost her voice or her passion. She opened with "R-E-S-P-E-C-T", and the tone for the evening was set.

She sang other standards of hers as well, such as "Think", "Chain Of Fools", "Freeway Of Love", etc. She rocked the house. She mellowed it with ballads. She lit it up with gospel. She talked to the crowd, and showed her appreciation of their love of her numerous times.

She was on a "mini-tour"..... and that night was the last night of about 6 stops in Texas and the area. She did mention her new upcoming album, "Aretha Franklin - Falling OUT of Love", and yes, she did emphasize the "OUT". She performed several songs from that new album as well.
Her son even played as her lead guitarist. Her band, the local band that also helped out, and the backup singers were all superb as well.

The only problem with the entire performance, is that the evening ended.

I'd go see her again, and even drive more than 5 hours to do it this time.

Truly, she still reigns as The Queen Of Soul.
